CorreLog has secured sponsorship at the 2016 IDUG North American Tech Conference in Austin, and will host a breakout session in which Charles Mills, CorreLog Director of Advanced Projects, will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the importance of audit functions for compliance in IBM® DB2®.

CorreLog, the leader in multi-platform IT security event log management, today announced a sponsorship and technical breakout session at the 2016 IDUG DB2 North American Tech Conference. This event will take place May 23-26, 2016 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas, and will feature user-focused technical education and networking for IT professionals working in IBM® DB2®.

CorreLog can be found in booth #300 and on Tuesday, May 24, will be accompanied by Craig S. Mullins, z/OS DB2 Database Architect (DBA) and accomplished author, to talk about DB2 management and security. Mullins will appear 12:00-1:00 p.m. and 5:00-6:00 p.m., local time. Attendees can register at booth #300 to win a signed copy of Mullins' book: "DB2 Developers Guide." For more information about Craig S. Mullins and his book, visit Mullins Consulting, Inc. here. New Product Launch for dbDefender™ DAM Agent for z/OS

CorreLog will be featuring a product launch of its Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) solution, dbDefender™ DAM Agent for IBM z/OS, at their booth during exhibition hall hours. IBM® DB2® databases contain the majority of personally identifiable information (PII) and payment card data for most financial services organizations. dbDefender™ provides privileged user monitoring, auditing of all valid and invalid access attempts, and auditing of system level objects, among other real-time z/OS DB2 auditing features for security and compliance with mandates such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and many others.

"Mainframe security auditing has only recently begun to be included into distributed SIEM tools, and DB2 security is lagging still farther behind," said George Faucher, president and CEO at CorreLog, Inc. "Organizations are just now understanding that auditors want to see mainframe data included in their Security Operations Centers (SOC) for compliance. With so much critical enterprise data, intellectual property, and payment card data residing in DB2, real-time DB2 monitoring is essential for an effective cross-platform IT security strategy."

CorreLog IDUG Speaking Session:

"Authentication and Authorization are not Enough: Compliance Requires Auditing too."

Abstract: A large percentage of data breaches involve insiders or outsiders with stolen insider credentials - breaches against which authentication and authorization are not effective. Disclosure laws require you to report breaches promptly, but 62% of breaches take months, and 4% take years before they are discovered. Hear why PCI DSS, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards require auditing, what kinds of DB2 events you can audit, and how.
