CorreLog, Inc. Enters Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) Market with Cost-Effective, Highly Functional Mainframe Security Product, dbDefenderTM DAM Agent for IBM® DB2®

CorreLog extends its SIEM Agent for z/OS product to include monitoring DB2 activity with standalone product dbDefenderTM DAM Agent for DB2, providing Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) to strengthen DB2 security, auditing and compliance.

CorreLog, the leader in multi-platform IT security event log management, today announced the release of dbDefenderTM DAM Agent for z/OS, its new DAM product for IBM® DB2®. dbDefenderTM provides up-to-the-second DB2® monitoring and security alerts for mainframe event log correlation in CorreLog DAM VisualizerTM for z/OS, CorreLog SIEM Correlation Server for Windows/UNIX, or any name-brand distributed Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) product. With dbDefenderTM, security administrators gain auditing capability and real-time visibility for all users attempting to view, access, or alter the secure state of DB2. Intel/McAfee has been using the CorreLog DAM as their mainframe DAM solution since 2014, and dbDefender™ DAM Agent is the standalone version of that product, exclusively from CorreLog.

dbDefender™ Product Launch at IDUG in Austin

As part of the new release launch, CorreLog will unveil dbDefenderTM DAM Agent at the 2016 IDUG North American Tech Conference in Austin, Texas, May 23-26. Attendees can find CorreLog at booth #300, and CorreLog will feature special guest Craig Mullins, DB2® Database Architect (DBA) and accomplished author ("DB2 Developer's Guide"), on Tuesday, May 24, at noon and 5:00 p.m. local time.

"Few software vendors offer DAM solutions for z/OS, and this lack of competition has created a lag in mainframe security innovation," said George Faucher, president and CEO at CorreLog. "dbDefender™ is a viable alternative to IBM (Security) Guardium, and evaluators of Guardium owe it to themselves to evaluate this simple-to-install and cost-effective product" Faucher added. "Too many CISOs don't have the awareness of who's accessing their DB2® data in real time, and this is going to cause them a lot of problems down the road. There is now an alternative offering on the market to help combat this problem."

Additionally, at IDUG, CorreLog will lend its subject-matter expertise with an IDUG Speaking Breakout:
